Find out which Technology Centre can help your SME flourish.
One of the tools on this website is the Technology Centre Mapping tool. You will find the tool here. This article describes what “Advanced Technologies for Industry (ATI)” Technology Centres are, the criteria for including them in the mapping and how you can you use the mapping tool.
ATI technology centres are public or private organisations carrying out applied research and close-to-market innovation in Advanced Technologies. They help SMEs reduce the time-to-market for new innovation ideas. Technology Centres typically provide the following services to SMEs: access to technology expertise and facilities for validation; demonstration; proof of concept; prototype development and testing; pilot production and demonstration; and certification.
In order to be included in the mapping tool, technology centres have to comply with 3 qualitative criteria and 2 out of 4 quantitative criteria. The qualitative criteria are: provide services to industry and SMEs; be active in at least one of the Advanced Technologies and; be active in the higher Technology Readiness Levels. The 4 quantitative criteria are: more than 10 projects with SMEs; more than 2 major investments in equipment for close-to-market R&D activities; at least 15% industrial funding in the total annual funding of the centre and; at least 7% from projects with SMEs in the total turnover of the centre. The last two criteria are measured in the last 2 years of the centre.
You can search for ATI technology centres yourself by using the search options. You can differentiate between country, sectors, technology centre activities and technology readiness level.
