Take a look at the Transition Pathway for Chemicals!

No image description.

The updated EU industrial strategy highlights the need to accelerate the green and digital transition of EU industry and its ecosystems. To that end, it proposes working together with industry, public authorities, social partners and other stakeholders to design and implement Transition Pathways for each ecosystem.

The Transition Pathway for the Chemical Industry was published in January 2023. As the fourth largest industry in the EU, the chemical industry plays a key role in the European twin transition.

Therefore, the pathway includes more than 150 actions under 8 Building Blocks:

  1. Sustainable Competitiveness
  2. Investment and funding
  3. Support to R&I, techniques and technological solutions
  4. Regulation and public governance
  5. Access to energy and feedstock
  6. Infrastructure
  7. Skills
  8. Social dimension

To support the co-implementation of the actions of the Transition Pathway for the Chemical Industry, a call for transition initiatives was published on 12 July 2023. In total, more than 110 published transition initiatives will help make the chemical industry more green, digital and resilient. More initiatives will be published on a ongoing basis directly here.

The call for transition initiatives will remain open during the entire co-implementation process of the pathway.

Transition initiatives can be submitted here.
