Description

ŁUKASIEWICZ - PIAP is a scientific institute based in Warsaw, Poland, witch over 50 years of experience in automation and robotics. Ł-PIAP’s more than 250 employees, including 150 research personnel, has wide, interdisciplinary experience in realization of unique solutions in the field of information technology, robotics, security, telemetry as well as artificial intelligence. The wide range of expertise in robotic systems development backed with experience in project management and lean back office processes resulted in more than 100 successful international projects. Its range of activities covers TRL 3-9, including in-house developed products manufacturing, sales and service.

Ł-PIAP’s implemented research projects, majority of which in consortia, is the best proof of Ł-PIAP’s capacity to involve different actors of the knowledge triangle. Recently Ł-PIAP had also the privilege to chair the Digitization of Polish Industry committee of the Digital Transformation Working Group at the Ministry of Development where Ł-PIAP also participated in creation of the Future Industry Foundation. At the same time Ł-PIAP chaired the committee of National Smart Specialization (mentioned above).

Ł-PIAP has got toolset for raising the awareness on digital transformation consists of a variety of events, publications and bespoke activities including: Automaticon - a trade fair for automation, control, measurement and robotics (301 Exhibitors, 540 Companies and 12 000 visitors); Automatyka monthly - A B2B magazine for specialists in manufacturing and industry (4000 readers); Automation annual scientific conference - The 2018 edition included 3 keynote talks and 79 papers; A field-test international Seminar RoboScope® - practical exercises with a use of mobile robots for end-users; services of company scan and in-depth technology audit aiming at digital maturity assessment of a company or its product (currently under development with Ł-PIAP’s international partners).

Ł-PIAP is a member of: European Robotics Platform, European Network of Space Technology Clusters, Space Engineering Cluster, Cluster of Unmanned Mobile Technologies, Advanced Security and Defense Technology Area Cluster, POLLAB Polish Research Laboratories Club, Robotics Consortium in the Mining Industry,  Mazovian Center of Advanced Technologies, Polish Chamber of Commerce for Advanced Technologies, Polish Chamber of Welding, Polish Technology Platform for Occupational Safety in Industry, Polish Technology Platform of Factories of the Future, Polish Technology Platform for Security Systems, Polish Technology Platform for Unmanned Systems, Polish Institute of Technology, Robotic Network of Excellence (EURON), TINFO Information Technology Network, Community of Knowledge and Innovation in Manufacturing Engineering, Association of Space Industry Employers and others.

Since April 2020 he has been operating within the structures of the Łukasiewicz Research Network. ŁRN consists of Łukasiewicz Centre and 35 research institutes (independent legal persons) located in 11 largest cities in Poland (i.e. Warszawa, Wrocław, Kraków, Poznań, Łódź, Gliwice, Katowice, Zabrze, Bydgoszcz, Białystok, Toruń). The network can ensure an unique opportunity to get access to local stakeholders (i.e. SMEs and local authorities) in all parts of the country. In 2019, ŁRN had about 340 mln euro revenues, 7500 employees, 30 spin-offs and 22 000 industrial partners, mainly SMEs and industrial enterprises.
