The Thuringian Institute for Textile and Plastics Research Rudolstadt e.V. (TITK) is one of the leading private material research institutes in the field of polymer functional and construction materials. As an industry-oriented institution with a modern technology park, TITK develops innovative starting materials or complete manufacturing processes for automotive components, packaging materials, bio- and medical technology, energy technology, micro- and nanotechnology, and lifestyle products. The TITK Group, with a total of 210 employees, includes two subsidiaries in addition to the institute. The smartpolymer GmbH markets and produces developments of the TITK. Testing services for textiles, fiber composite materials and plastics are realized by OMPG mbH (accredited testing laboratory according to DIN EN ISO / IEC 17025).
