Description

CiTin - Center for Industrial Technological Interface is an applied research center for the development and transfer of technology and skills to its associates and companies in the region of Alto Minho, Portugal. The association has two laboratories dedicated to the development of technological solutions and services in the scope of Industry 4.0, namely the Advanced Production Systems Laboratory and the Cyber Physics Systems Laboratory. CiTin provides support to companies, especially small and medium-sized ones, for the digitalization of operational and organizational processes, for the digital transformation of the business model in view of the Industry 4.0/5.0 paradigm, for the professionalization of industrial management, and in the development of competencies. The approach to accomplish this mission is to analyze the TRL, readiness and maturity level and plan an implementation roadmap based on the diagnosed results.

Equipment

CiTin - Center for Industrial Technological Interface is an applied research center for the development and transfer of technology and skills to its associates and companies in the region of Alto Minho, Portugal. The association has two laboratories dedicated to the development of technological solutions and services in the scope of Industry 4.0, namely the Advanced Production Systems Laboratory and the Cyber Physics Systems Laboratory. It also has an auditorium with capacity for 50 people and a 353.22 m2 space for applied research, training and practical university classes in Industrial Engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo (IPVC) and the University of Minho (UM). This space has the following equipment:

PortLaser Industrial Laser (Mercury III), laser cutting of materials such as signage, glass, 3D engraving, acrylic, leather, and fur – 1 unit;
Hermes Alecop, industrial CNC training lathe with integrated PC control – 1 unit;
3D Plotter MDX-15 Model A (Roland) – 1 unit;
BIMAQ Multiple drilling – 1 unit;
MaxiOptima, CNC equipment for cutting, engraving and machining – 1 unit;
LAN Switch Planet – 1 unit; 
Gumi Hamburg ET411C, cooling and compression system – 1 unit;
Gumi Hamburg CT300, engines test stand for measuring the power output of internal combustion engines – 2 units;
300A Praxair Compact-C 300H/4R MIG, welding machine – 3 units;
Tektronix AFG3021C Signal Generator – 8 units;
FLUKE Oscilloscope – 8 units;
RIGOL DP832 Voltage Source – 8 units;
ICR5 ABB Robot Controller – 1 unit;
ABB Robotic Arm – 1 unit;
Conveyor belt – 2 units;
CT 300.09 Gumi Hamburg, electronic engine indicating system – 1 unit;

Services

CiTin offers training through its Learning Factory, with funding from eit Manufacturing, in the areas of Project Management, Industrial Management with Lean Manufacturing, Additive Manufacturing and IoT Systems for the industrial environment. It also offers support services for process digitization and digital transformation with planned implementation roadmap by assessing TRL, readiness and maturity levels for Industry 4.0/5.0.
