Description

JYVSECTEC – Jyväskylä Security Technology is JAMK University of Applied Sciences, Institute of Information Technology based research, development and training center focused for Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics. JYVSECTEC offers services by using Finland’s national Cyber Arena RGCE (Realistic Global Cyber Environment) and JAMK High Performance Computing (HPC) environment.

JYVSECTEC provides information and cyber security solutions through Research & Development and Training & Exercises. Our goal is to develop expertise and know-how by providing organizations with staff training, and by conducting research and development with national and international professionals. One example is the national cyber exercise, which has been conducted annually since 2013 in co-operation with the Finnish defence and security authorities and critical infrastructure companies. We have a co-operation agreement with the Finnish Ministry of Defence regarding the development of national cyber security.

We are actively participating in ICT- and cyber security related Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe calls for proposals. We are active members in the European Cyber Security Organisation (ECSO) and in the Big Data Value Association (BDVA) / Data, AI and Robotics (DAIRO).

The Institute of Information Technology offers Bachelor's and Master's level education in ICT, especially in cyber security, Artificial Intelligence and Data Analysis.

Cyber Arena RGCE (Realistic Global Cyber Environment)

Realistic Global Cyber Environment (RGCE) is a feature rich live cyber arena. RGCE brings together a realistic global world and real organization environments in an isolated private cloud. It simulates Internet with various industry specific organization environments and users which can be controlled from a centralized system.

These industry specific organizations are comprehensive environments that represents certain vertical field of business, their services, and technical environments including also business specific systems. RGCE is idealistic for R&D purposes for example by allowing the usage of real attacks and malware with global network infrastructure and traffic which can be captured from appropriate network layers.

JAMK High Performance Computing (HPC)

JAMK High Performance computing (HPC) is an environment that has the ability to process a massive amount of data and perform complex calculations at high speeds. Technologies such as Data Analytics (DA) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) need the big amount of data and computing resources. Especially the Deep Learning (DL) and neural network development requires computational power which cannot be achieved using traditional CPU (Central Processing Unit) based computing.

DL is a field with intense computational requirements, and the choice of GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) will fundamentally determine the deep learning experience. The purpose of JAMK HPC is to offer powerful computing environment to the data analytics and machine learning projects.
